“Farmhouse in Winter”

Daphne vom Baur has lived and worked in Fauquier County for the last twenty-five years.   She is a figurative artist, working in oil and pastel as well as watercolor.

Vom Baur studied at the Brighton Polytech College, the City and Guilds of London College of Art,  (MFA program) and has a BFA in Sculpture from Boston University as well as post- graduate work. She was a Fellow at the Atlantic Center of the Arts with Philip Pearlstein, and studied informally with Wolf Kahn.

Her work is represented in many private collections as well as the South Carolina State Art Collection, the Gibbes Museum in Charleston, SC, and is in the permanent collection of the National Sporting Museum in Middleburg.

She has exhibited nationally, and her work was included in “The Perception of Appearances, A Decade of American Drawing” at the Frye Museum in Seattle, as well as at the Verner Gallery in Charleston, SC, the Cosmos Club in Washington, DC, the Hermitage Foundation Museum in Norfolk, VA, Greystoke and Verner in Middleburg, and currently at the Corrigan Gallery in Charleston.  Subject matter includes landscape, horses, figures and portraits, and still life.
