Julie Miles – J Miles Studios, founded in 1991, is a full spectrum decorative and fine arts studio. Julie is dedicated to the tactile artistry and craftsmanship of the painting world. A native Virginian, she was essentially born with a paintbrush in one hand and a horse in the other, having never ceased cultivating both loves. With many years of decorative painting experience, a BFA from Virginia Commonwealth University, she has worked with many of the masters from the United States and Europe. Her work has been featured in several embassies, hotels, restaurants, private residences, numerous publications such as the Washington Post, Traditional Home, The Piedmont Virginian, and in and on the cover of “The House that Faux Built”.
“Julie Miles is recent works feature her craft on a smaller scale and her stylized botanicals often on gilded campuses have a grace and beauty that resonates.” Peggy Duval of Duvall Designs Gallery
” Julie Miles focuses her aesthetic eye and close observation upon pods, seeds, flowers, fruits and orbs to create a series of paintings that capture the beauty, delight and mystical geometry within and around these organisms. They are painted somewhat graphically, often on gold or silver leafed backgrounds, in a stunning array of colors from a highly tuned palette” Winslow McCagg
