LAUREN BRUCE, an impressionist painter and studio artist, has called Virginia home all her life. From Lynchburg to Old Town Alexandria, and now settled in Western Loudoun, Lauren has continually used her surroundings for inspiration in creating her art. Admired for the balance of lush and energetic brush strokes, Lauren’s work appears effortless and expressive. I love the moment when brush strokes of interesting colors and shapes overlap to form something exciting, natural and one of a kind. The paint, energy and color combinations become just as intriguing as the subject matter. She is drawn to the quiet beauty of her environment as she travels locally or abroad, using these scenes as the basis for her exquisite paintings.
While Lauren is known primarily for her impressionistic oil paintings of landscapes, seascapes, and florals, she is frequently commissioned to create drawings, portraits, watercolors, architectural renderings, and murals. Exhibiting most frequently on the East Coast, her work also resides in private and public collections throughout the country. Lauren earned a BFA at James Madison University and continued her development as a painter at the Art School of Lorenzo de Medici in Florence, Italy. Listed in the Davenport’s Art Reference & Price Guide, Lauren also holds active membership in both the Oil Painters of America and the American Impressionist Society. She is featured in The Scout Guide for Northern Virginia. [www.laurenbrucestudio.com]
