LIBBY STEVENS is an award winning artist who has crafted her skills over the past 30 years. She is best known for her vivid depictions of the rural scenery of Loudoun county, Virginia, as well as for her stunning still life interpretations. Her work is available at her studio, Loudoun Street Studio, in historic downtown Leesburg, Virginia and across local shows such as Oatlands Plantation, Waterford Art Fair and Millwood’s Art at the Mill. She is an active member of the Loudoun Sketch Club, a founding member of Fine Art Professionals of Northern Virginia, holds signature status in the Maryland Pastel Society and is a respected art instructor.
Libby has been painting in pastel since 1992, after studying with California painter, Margot Schultzke. She was immediately hooked on the sticks of luscious pure color and has been happily exploring the techniques for painting in pastel. She has studied with master pastel painters Albert Handel and Richard McKinley. She has been featured in elan , and Piedmont Virginia magazines.
