Katherine graduated from The University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, VA with a bachelor of fine arts and a K-12 art teacher certification. Locally, she was an Artist in Residence at Waterford Elementary School with an emphasis on book illustration and has taught art in public and private schools, and in her home studio - a former dry goods store constructed in 1886 in the historic village of Waterford, Virginia - where she paints, displays her work, and continues to teach students of all ages.
Many galleries in Virginia and Maryland have presented and sold her work. Katherine’s art has won awards at multiple regional juried shows, was included in a traveling art show to Germany and has been purchased for Amazon's permanent collection and at Oatlands historic house and gardens.
